The 20-year veteran of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office also has a critical jaw injury and is considering filing a lawsuit against Raptors President Masai Ujiri, lawyer David Mastagni stated. “The officer is off painting, disabled, and wants to go back to work,” Mastagni stated. The call of the deputy has not been released.
The conflict between the deputy and Ujiri happened as the deputy checked courtroom-get right of entry credentials after the game on Thursday in Oakland in opposition to the Golden State Warriors. Authorities say Ujiri attempted to stroll past the deputy; however, the deputy stopped him because he didn’t see Ujiri’s on-courtroom credentials. However, Warriors fan Greg Wiener, who witnessed the altercation, stated last week that the incident began when the deputy placed his hand on Ujiri’s chest and drove him. Ujiri shoved him, returned before bystanders intervened, Wiener said. He additionally said then that there had been no conversation between the deputy and Ujiri. But on Tuesday, he stated he remembered the officer shouting, “No one gets on the court without credentials.” Wiener said he recalled the element “after thinking about it all weekend.”
